My detailing thread (56k begone!)
Here come a lot more pictures!
I finally finished up, and I am pretty tired from doing this! I am not 100% complete yet (didn't clean exhaust tips, didn't wax windows, didn't put second coat of wax on yet either) but I will finish anything that I haven't tonight, tommorow.
Here are some more pictures:
1. Damage on the passenger's side rear door. The large spot I clearly can't do anything about, but the scratches are something I am going to address

2. Using the clay bar.

3. This is apparently the "proper" way of applying product to the pad

4. Applied, and waiting to dry

5. Still waiting to dry

6. After!

7. The scratches are almost completely gone now.

8. Same part of the door

9. Onto to the AFTER!

Overall I am very happy with the results. There are some deep scratches that are past the paint/clear so there was nothing I could do about those, but I am happy with what I accomplished. I still have more to do tomorrow with the glass, and I haven't even THOUGHT about the interior yet, but it's nice to feel paint that actually feels smooth again.

Hahaha, if you wanna drive to southern connecticut (trumbull), I'll do it for a couple beers as long as you help
Thanks for the compliments everyone. Tomorrow I'm going to do the glass, then start on the interior a little bit. I'm probably going to go out and get some leather cleaner.
Thursday the car goes in to get the wheels, front lip, and paint on the calipers. After that I'll take some more pics of the summer mode.

I figure I'll share something that happened today... I had a webpage due in my programming for the web class, and I did it based on my weekend of detailing. My professor loved it, and apparently her husband's car is in dire need of getting some scratches and swirl marks out of the paint and he was looking to have someone do it. He is going to call me this week to figure out a time and a price.

Amazing dedication, detailing done right, night and day difference..
How do you like NXT 2.0?
I still have several bottles of 1.0, not too sure if I'm convinced enough that 2.0 is that much superior than the original...

2.0 really doesn't seem to have any benefits over 1.0 to be honest. I believe one of the biggest things is that it's supposed to last longer. I really don't believe that there's a huge difference. The only reason why I have both is because Meguiars screwed up on my order twice, so I ended up getting the NXT 2.0 for free
