Haha okay exclusive.
Now people remember, We can stay for a week, or you can stay longer if you know your way back. Shall we do a caravan? If so, we'll need some wings
Should we stay at a hotel? ( I have family down there, so no problem for me. )
Where would you guys want to go? All ideas are welcome!

LOL, shush, it was fun to sit in the background and see them trying to put this together without any details. lol, and people are signing up for it.
It's a great idea but you can't just throw a thread together and say "hey lets drive to FL for a week" with people off the internet like it's the same as with your fam.
You're going to need to do some extensive planning.

Seriously though, this is an idea we've been thinking about trying to put together for a while. But it's hard enough trying to get the two biggest groups (NY & MD in terms of participation) to get together and that's only 250 miles. In order to try and put together a FL trip, you're going to need a monetary committment from everyone and tons and tons of planning. You would need to put the trip together first (with alternate dates) with all the costs and details already figured out (you can approximate the number of people but 15 is a good number to start with in terms of getting group rates at hotels). Then you get people to sign up for it and give them plenty of advance notice so they can adjust their schedule.
But remember, this is only our 2nd real year of getting organized to where we can have successfull out of town road trips. We are definitely working our way toward doing a major road trip (Atlanta, North Carolina, Niagara Falls, etc) for 08 and trying to link up with other regional groups.
If you still want to try and plan a FL trip, feel free, but I would suggest putting some legwork into getting all the planning done now. Trying to arrange a NELOCtrip to coincide with your family's trip probably won't work out that well unless you just extending individual invites to drive down with you and brothers and people can piggyback off your plans.
I fly to Mia at least 6 or 7 weekends a year and would definitely be interested in trying to make that drive down there but that's 24 hours of driving and that's gonna take some planning. A lot of planning when you talk about 10 cars +.

I would but personally I don't think we're ready for a FL trip just yet. As you can see from some of the other threads, there were a few issues doing a overnight trip to PA earlier this year in terms of getting people to commit early, getting rooms, parking priviliges, (burnouts - ahem), etc. I think as the new season comes around we've some issues that we need to work out and try to put in effect (especially when it comes to the caravan and safety which has been starting to lack in recent trips). But everyone seems to be committed to having a better 08 so I don't see any reason why that can't happen. Strengthing/Developing the friendships along the 95 corridor is going to be a priority in my opinion. We've got tons of new members so asking them to make a FL committment with people they've yet to meet is a but much especially when you're talking 1,000 miles and 7 days and then 1,000 miles.
(plus if we're heading to FL [and driving], I would choose to go in Oct or early Nov when the temps start dropping here.)

if you have the time off.... winging it can be fun...kinda like being a rebel.. I think it would be just be cool to ride down and link up with SELOC...They usually have some big meet in the spring.
We can't even get you out to a one-day Maryland meet most times, and you talkin' about "wingin' it" to Florida?

It's a great idea, but we gotta crawl before walk. We still takin' baby steps right now, trying to move to a full upright position without teetering over.
Hey Mr. "I'm not sure about anything", I'm sure of this....you aint goin'. LOL
Instead, bring yo' butt back down to Maryland this spring first...and of course, we'll see you in Carlisle.
By the way, I thought about you last night...I was bored and sitting in traffic coming back from NYC (a quick trip), and I started weaving inside my lane like a crazed fool, a la Bat. I was thinkin', "I need a NELOC caravan right about now, with Bat in the lead."

no real talk, I really want to come to most meets but they are so impromtu, My wife and daughter are the center of my life and I really enjoy being with them. They are both two divas and don't like modded cars. So they won't hang... I have to let them know about events ahead of time, and then I will get a pass. This would be easier for me if I know a time frame months in advance...this is a move that doesn't have to be done by all... I will be making that trek anyways.. I owe SELOC some love and check up on my Mother...
