Well I decided to sell my blackberry 8800. Mainly becuase I have to shell out an additional 34.99 a month to check email on a $500 phone... (im on cingular)
I noticed the iphone is down to about $299 and I can order it direct from ATT brand new. With that I can keep my plan and have unlimited data/internet.
I've been browsing the net and i see a lot of mixed reviews. Some like it some don't... mainly becuase of the sudden price drop. any one own one? How is it?
If not the iphone i'm looking at either the 8525 (bulky as hell and it runs on windows )... Yes.. I like wifi. lol.
it depends on what you use it for. its a great multimedia phone that can make phone calls , listen to music and browse the web. but if you use it for business/emails its not that great, and it gets hot as hell when your on the phone. other than that its cool. but wont work for me.
I love mine. However, make sure you have your Old phone paired with your Lexus and important numbers already entered into the car Before you deactivate it because we never could figure out how to enter the new ones into the Lexus. No problem getting it to work with the Lexus bluetooth. Also, unlike my Razr, the phone rings, not the sound coming through the stereo system. However, the stereo stops playing so you can hear it.
i love mine too! but be prepared to get some more unusual dropped calls, as it is a sacrifice for such a intuitive internet machine! i love the multimedia on it, especially the ease and fast internet use! i also love the fact that there is going to be a crazy aftermarket out there, as there is already several hack programs available. the only other negative i can think of besides the random dropped calls every once in a while is that you have use a ugly cover to cover up the slick design of the phone, as you dont wanna risk dropping such a heavy investment and sacrificing the results. i would overall definetly recommend this phone, but beware of spending unusually long amounts of time on the phone once you get it wasting away your life, and ignoring everything else around you if you are seriously thinking of getting it, either get it now for less money unlike some of us who got ripped off, or wait till christmas where i heard they are upgrading some stuff and releasing a 2nd version. good luck!

Is there a particular reason for the dropped calls, perhaps something that there will be a fix for with future software upgrades?
Yea I've been browsing around the net and found tons and tons of software for it.
I ended up getting the 8 gig model directly from apple today for 400 bucks. It should be here by tuesday or wednesday
^Bwaaahhh its the UMTS network upgrade they keep upgrading the network to get ready for the 1 mbps data speed upgrade. And why oh why would anyone buy the iphone it has EDGE data speed ya know the slow old stuff that came out like 2 years ago. Please I beg of you get the 8525 which I have or wait till Oct. 10th for the tilt (8925) to come out it has built in gps and runs wm6 it will be by far the best ppc on the market. Trust me on this I sell ATT I know this stuff.
Ok so I got the phone today... So far im liking it... navigating around the phone is smooth and easy. The call quality is a little under what the blackberry had but still decent.
My music, email, calendar and contacts synced perfectly.
