Hey, I'm in the Hampton Roads area as well. I sometimes go up to Bass Pro in Hampton...they have a cruise-in on Sat nights. Nice to see some other Lexus lovers in the Tidewater area.

Maybe we should all get together sometime for a Lexus meet in VA? Would anyone be interested in doing that sometime?

Good luck finding a reputable paint/body shop. I need paint too, but still working on the car.
I live in Fairfax myself. I will be going to FL to get my SC sometime soon. Same year, just spruce silver. Just needs new Lower control arms, and its ready to make the drive.

I didn't realize it was this bad until after I moved here, and went to visit a couple of week ago. Its not just they are bad drivers, they love to get an inch ahead in standstill traffic, its like hitting a goldmine. Very bad driving. Consequently, the cops are ALL over the place, and very strict. When they get bored at night, they start pulling over people for the slightest things.

Where in Fairfax? I live in Lorton, LEXGS02 we're neighbors lol I'm down if you guys wanna do a local meet up. I'm starting to shop for a good paint job, have a few that gave me quotes already but still looking for a better deal. Not in a hurry anyway as I intend to do early summer or late spring if I have the dough. Just got my sc400 a month ago and still in the 'fix the broken stock parts' phase.

Get used to it, Fairfax is a mixing bowl and traffic has been getting worse over the years. Metro DC has become a nightmare traffic wise. If you were already here when the new Wilson bridge was opened you're lucky, the old one was notorious during the rush hour and a standstill during Skins games on Sundays. There are fun roads however to take your ride and not be worried about cops.

I'm not too far from Fairfax if I remember correctly. I think it's about two hours from me; it's towards DC isn't it? Good luck with the SC! They're fun and exciting.

I'm not complaining about the DC Police, but I've heard stories about them. I was pretty drunk when I was in DC and they didn't bother to give me a DUI so I'm happy. 0=D LOL

It'd be a lot of fun to get everyone together for a small meet, maybe discuss some car talk. I may have to go out and start saving up to get the car looking nice!1!

Cool. Yeah we are close. We should be able to hook up and talk cars anytime. Funny, my Buddy drives an IS and he lives in Lorton too. I know a place on Route 1 where he took his bumper and hood to get them buffed. Came out nice. It's been a couple of years now so he is due for a paint job too. In alot of ways I need a touchup myself. The trucks throwing rocks on 95 are a killer. I know of a couple of places but have never gotten any work done there myself. I can atleast point you in their direction. We gotta find some reputable local shops in northern VA that do good work. Seems to me that most of DC Metro NELOC members use good shops in MD. Lindsay Lexus is tops on our end, but then again thats a dealer so its gonna cost $$.

mr2tosc4 ,

By the way speaking of IS's I met a few guys some time back. There are alot of people in our area but they roll IS style. Good bunch of guys, but my heart lies with NELOC. Anyway I came across this link and thought it will be useful. These guys know there stuff.

A buff job doesn't sound too bad. I think I'm gonna try a few OTC things tomorrow and see if maybe that doesn't help to get off some of this nasty oxidation. I have the day to myself so it'll probably be devoted to getting the SC sexy and maybe rotating and balancing the tires.

I meant that I didn't realize how bad the driving was in FL, until i visited there 2 weeks after moving here (Fairfax). I lived in FL for 10 years prior, so I guess I just got used to it. Now i cant stand driving there.

What part of FL were you in? I don't mind the driving in FL in my area. I used to go out "joyriding" a lot. A few times those nights ended up in evasive tactics though. 0=D
