i've been to the pocono's... i hear VT has more diamonds and harder slopes to go down.... not such a good idea unless your at least an intermediate skier or boarder... i would recommend pocono's

I went to Stratton for X-Mas and the mountain was mostly dirt, not much snow coverage.

Well I am hitting up Mountain Creek on February 3rd, if you guys want to tag along that would be fine. Hopefully we get some snow by then.

I am in a ski club. I can see if we can piggy back on one of their events so that takes pressure off of planning and whatnot.

Keep the snow up by the ski areas. I'm enjoying having the roads nice and salt free.

Not really true. Mountains like Mount Snow, Killington, Haystack have extensive beginner and intermediate trails. Basically the same as the ones in the Poconos, only longer.

Jay Peak, Pico, and the like, now here's where you don't find as much beginner terrain. But it is still there.

Don't be afraid of going outside the Poconos. I promise that you'll be pleasantly surprised!

.

Killington was a blast. It rained a little saturday but SNOWED on Sunday, which made up for it. This was my 1st time at Killington so it was nice to have such a large variety of trails. The drive is a little far but well worth it if you were to make it a week / weekend trip.
