Default So I chromed my grille... *pic*

...what a pain in the ***! Haha. After 2 SOS pads and about 2 hours I got the front section of the grille cleaned up. I know there are other ways of doing it but since I'm at school resources are limited. I'd highly suggest a dremel to anyone else if they wanted to do it 10x quicker. I don't care if it's a free mods, I'm finally starting to get some things done to this car and every one is going to make a world of difference in my eye

Ive had two LX grilles, one just a scrap one from my year which i attempted to strip the paint for the chrome which i well, messed up. And a 06 all chrome grille. Both times i walked around singing that song to my friends.

Joe C, so do you go to Fairfield U or what? Cuz i want to come check out ya grillz...because i messed up when i did mine. Anyways SHOW ME SHOW ME! Hey, if its a quality job you could even make some money doing a second one, to pay for the not so free mods, lol.

I go to Sacred Heart.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind doing it again, but I'll have to wait at least a week or two. My finger is royally messed up from doing it (bent my fingernails, few cuts too). When I actually finish it I'm going to use some form of stripping agent to get it off. Shoot me an IM if you want to and we can meet up sometime.

oh ight sweet. Yeah no i tried some sort of citrus stripping thing from home depot. It worked fine but when i started to scrape at it i used something too abrasive i guess. I think if i put the stripper on my grill(lol) and use a power washer it might take all the paint off leaving the chrome. So with a SOS pad, it didnt scratch the chrome up?

Im also under the assumption, the 2GS has a full chrome grille but then they paint the center black right?

Graffitti Remover spray can from Home Depot... took about 20 mins. Sprayed it and I let it sit for about 10 mins and then I used paper towels and wiped it down. instant chrome.

oh definitely have to use rubber gloves... this stuff irritates the hell out of your skin.

Here's just a few pics of the car that I've taken. There aren't any ones head on of the grill, but I may take a couple today/tonight if I get a chance.

I love this damn car :-)

i myself would never do this mod again and i totally hate it. I gave up trying to get the crap off the damn grille. Im going to buy the 06 grille and the little trim peices to make it fit for my truck. Its going to cost like 700 bucks after painting and install but im OCD about my truck and i freak out when i see it close. From the distance i took the pictures it looks awsome though....i love seeing the reflection off store front when im turning....looks sweet.
