Default Hello =)

Hello everyone, Curry here!

I'm here in Queens, NY.

Currently driving my 1994 V6 Camry, and plan on buying a GS300/400 very soon. (if you guys know of any good deals in or around queens do let me know!)

I didnt wanna spend money to mod out my camry, so I said i'd buy up a new car first.

All I did was headrest TV's, a CarPC with Nav and a 17 inch Trunk LCD.

Gsoup. Good meeting you guys yesterday, funny how the same day I joined, I ran into you. lol.

Hope to meet up with everyone else.!

I thought they were pretty standard things lol. Actually rims and a tint for the camry were next on my list, but I'm just gonna save it, get the car re-painted and sell it off, I've had it about 4 years going on to 5 and its got around 113k miles on it. The engine is in excellent condition, not to mention very very clean. Never had a problem.

The trunk is near completion it just needs to be sanded down a bit more, patched up and painted.

I was planning some custom door panels too. But I'm going to save the idea if i decide to turn the lex into a show car. Everything is still up in the air right now. I've seen some of the GS VIP style cars and I'm really liking it

Door Design I drew up. I know im a terrible artist lol.

OUCHHHH!!!! You've got some good stuff going there and definately on the path to being a unique creation. I was not expecting what I saw in your pics. Hard to think that you would take the time to get all of this going and get it right and then sell it off. Kinda makes me wish I still had my 92. Same body style as yours, but was just a 4 cylinder. Mine was black with mirror/black tint (trick 35) and 16" rims. Kinda "ghettofied" my car a little and stuck a big red toyota symbol on the rear window to match the red/white pinstripe though. LOL!!!!! Hey I though it was cool back then and it was truly one of a kind. That car lasted me until 2000 when I traded it in to get an Expedition (97 Eddie Bauer). Had over 590K on the odometer, was on it's second engine (first one died after I threw a rod clear through the hood after Jiffy Lube neglected to place my drain plug back in after oil change). New engine had only 80K on it. Was still in showroom condition and I used to use it to enter amateur show and shine competitions. Daily commute with that car was close to 200 miles per day in the 5 years I had had it. Memories!!!!

I did spend some time on, but I thought instead of pouring my hours into it, it would be a better idea to pour it into a newer car. I do like the looks I get when I pop the trunk and people see a full size LCD staring back at them lol. WOW 590k damn. I'm no where near that lol.

Yea my plans were extensive for this car...

I just installed some PIAA foglights, I also planned

18 inch black rims with a chrome lip.
Custom door panels
TV in each door
TV to replace third brake light
4 subs on rear deack
4 subs in trunk
Amprack
Fiberglass console
TV in center armrest to face the backseats
Replace rearview mirror with LCD and camera
Leather interior

Engine:
Cold Air intake
Forged internals
Rebuilt performance transmission
Turbo

It was going to end up being a lot of cash, and of course I wouldnt get all that back unless I were to probably part out the car...

That list of mods is making me jealous. Dawg, I'm dropping off the LS to you and just surprise me lol!!!!! By no means am I trying to talk you out of a newer car; I just appreciate good work and original design/thinking when I see it and it's all right there on paper. If you did that to a Camry, I can just imagine how your Lex will be. As far as my Camry, I was an independent contractor for awhile and my commute to work was 100 miles each way (200 total) everyday for close to 5 years. I was working home delivery contracts in VA and so it was required that I visit my accts everyday to maintain my business. You do the work yourself???? If so I may have a proposition for you... LOL!!!! give you a hint......(shhhh)

To answer your last question first, I do all the work myself in my driveway with help from some tools. I learned everything from just looking at pictures, reading and visiting forums. That trunk lid was my first ever fiberglass project. Didnt come out perfect but i've been told it looks awesome.

Btw your LS LOOKS FREAKING SWEET!

Once in a while i'd take a trip to upsate new york, otherwise I just drive to school and to work which isnt a far drive. The camry was more an experiment car to see if I could actually do this stuff. Turns out that I can do it, just a matter of time and LOTS of patience. I of course did make mistakes and I was able to fix the mistakes. I actually felt strongly about doing the camry up nicely, many told me its not worth it, start with a newer car, and I ignored them. Originally I had planned to turn it into a show car.

Recently part of me realized if I can do this to camry, then I can surely do this to a newer car and It would still be hot. I always backed up my camry thinking I could never afford anything like a lexus or BMW until I started checking out dealer and ebay prices on these machines. Of course the milage would be around 100,000K and up but who cares, its a toyota/lexus it will practically last forever.

It would have been nice If I could totally trick out a lexus, slap on something like "Curry Customs" and do this stuff for a living. I really do enjoy it and as of now i'm seriously considering doing it after I get my bachelors in Business Administration.

I also figured, if my show camry were to go up against a show supra or something I wouldn't stand a chance unless I did something totally nuts like 360 degree rotating doors or hiding TV screens behind my tail lights which would be on hinges. That list above is just part of my original plans, I have a whole 6 sheet spreadsheet on excel dedicated to plans I had for the camry. I guess as of now I have two plans.

GO nuts on the camry, enjoy it for a while. Part it out and buy the lexus

or

Sell the camry now, buy the lexus, go nuts on the lexus and pimp that for a little while and use it as my advertising tool. I have way more learning to do as far as mobile audio and video go, but I have the hang of it. That goes for fiberglass fabrication as well.

Hopefully I will be able to make it, I have to take care of a couple loose ends, Lots of family things going on around that time, but I will see what the deal is.

lol what you will see is a stripped camry and a dirty trunk filled with fiberglass shavings and a bunch of other junk, of course things will be done in time. I have off from work the next two days so I'm hoping to get some work done on the trunk.
