If you are running 20's and lowered a lot, you will rub on the top plastic of the fender and then the metal tab behind that.
Synergy had his car dumped so much that it rubbed on a tiny dip going 20mph.
After bending the tab there was no more rubbing. Make sure to bend the tab in the direction of forward rotation of the tire. You don't want to catch a tread block at a high speed bump, if you bend it the wrong way. Could become a real dangerous situation..
Bending the tab instead of cutting it maintains the strength of that fender area and the weld joint.
We've done this mod on Rominl's and several other local members and after 3+ years, they are trouble free.
sputniknyc, time to chuck the bat and get a sledge hammer.

Taken from an Integra Forum... but it should be the same idea...there's like 4 pages, it might look just like one but you gotta click through all of them.

Here's the idea...(minus the tool)

I also need to do something with my fender lip now. I was thinking about cutting some slits into the fender lip with a dremel to weaken it and then pushing it up. But i'm not sure how well this will work. Any suggestions?

no need to dremel it to weaken it. Just roll it with a bat slowly.
Leave the car out in the sun for a bit to heat up the paint and you're golden.
