Description:
I’m the youngest of the 3 owners of this car (and I’ve hit my 50!) It started life in St George, UT under the previous 2 owners. I’ve owned it and used it as my daily driver for the last 2.5 years. It has been adult owned and driven its entire 141,200 mile life, never drifted or abused. Zero rust as it has lived it’s entire life in dry, desert-y conditions.
Overall it’s in nice shape and is ready to continue daily driver duty or be the base for a NA-T turbo upgrade or GTE twin turbo upgrade or showroom restoration.
Pro’s and Recent Work
* 130,000 Replaced timing belt, water pump, cam and crank seals, idler pulley, timing belt tensioner, drive belt. Leaks no engine oil
* 141,000 Replace transmission pan gasket and transmission filter (Wix). Drain and fill w/ Dexron VI synthetic transmission fluid
* 141,000 Replaced driveshaft center carrier bearing with Japanese made bearing by SKF
* 2015 Ford Mustang GT 18" rims with ZERO curb rash (like new condition) wrapped in Goodyear Eagle tires with good tread left. This setup is SWEET in my opinion.
* Set of winter wheels with Michelin X-Ice tires. The wheels are from a 2nd Gen IS and look nice. With these on the car gets around just fine in the snow and ice.
* Also have the original chromed wheels (that’s 3 sets of wheels!)
* Set of 4 Tein Flex-Z coilovers installed at 131,000 on 6/2020. Lowered the stance about 1.5-2”. Still rides nice. The stance is just about perfect in my opinion.
* Replaced steering rack bushings when I first bought the car with Daizen Polyurethane bushings.
* Kept up on regular oil changes using full synthetic oil and Wix filters (or K&N performance filter when Wix unavailable)
* Nice professional tint done when I first bought the car
The Plain Truth
* Grey interior is a 6-7 out of 10. Driver seat worn in the bolster, each rear seat has one split seam along the stitching. Door panels have a single small split. Other than that interior is in very respectable shape for a 30 year old car
* Paint is 30 years old. It still shines up real nice, but there are defects.
* Body is in good shape. A golfball ding on driver’s rear quarter is the worst of the damage. Various parking lot dings, but really in good shape overall
* Steering rack is the only leak on the vehicle that I’m aware of. Really it’s more of a “weep”. I end up with a couple drops on my garage floor every week or two. I check the fluid every month or so, but have only had to add 2-3 times in the 30 months I’ve owned it. The rack makes no unusual noise. The tie rod boot is torn on the passenger side which is where it leaks from.
* Power radio antenna is broken. The motor works but the antenna got bent and it won’t go up and down (I unplugged the motor to prevent further damage. Antenna still functions at getting radio signal.
* All 4 dash gauge needle lights have failed. The gauges themselves work fine. This is a common issue with 90s era Toyota vehicles. There is a company (TaninAuto) that sells aftermarket replacements for about $85 and it’s not a terrible repair. It never bothered me enough to fix
That’s about all I can think of. I’m selling because I got something a little smaller for my commute. I really have enjoyed this car but I’d like the garage space now. I don’t HAVE to sell and won’t be giving it away. That being said I do have some room to negotiate on price, but any discussion about price MUST be done in person.
I’m a straight shooter and expect the same from you. I’ve tried to be as upfront and honest as possible because that’s how I like to be treated.
Test drivers will need to show proof of insurance / ID or I do all the driving.
