Default Timing Belt?

1992 ES300 Help! Screwed up and removed my timing belt to replace the cranj seal, put belt back on and have lost timing , think either crank or cams has turned 1 or 2 teeth, what is the easiest or only way to get things set back where they go to reinstall timing belt? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The timing marks are set with number one cyclinder at TDC. After installing the belt, it is best to rotate the engine by hand using the crankshaft bolt to insure there everything is moving correctly. ..then try and start it. Rotate the engine at least two rotations CLOCKWISE.

excellent post. I'm thinking of changing the timing belt (it has ~60K on it now)

any tips on making it easier?
