Default Oil light on 1995 SC400

The Low Oil light keeps coming on as I'm driving, it'll randomly come on then go off. Sometimes its stays on for a pretty long time other times it'll just quickly flash on then instantly go back off. This started this past weekend, ive been constantly checking my oil level and it is never low but the light will still come on. So my question is could it be some sensor that's going bad?

Could be sensor, could also be low oil pressure in which case driving it the way you are will be destroying the engine.

I would have someone watch the oil light and another person reach in (safely!!) and jiggle the oil pressure sender plug and wires around while it's running and see if you can get the oil pressure light to come on and go off. It should just be a connection issue but you need to be sure.

Shouldn't be too hard to fix if you know where the problem lies.

I am also having this issue with my 1996 sc400. dipstick shows plenty of oil, even had oil changed and light came back on after about 15 miles of driving. want to reiterate it is the orange/yellow oil level light, not the red oil pressure light.

is this how you reply to someone? I honestly don't know No sadly I never found the issue, still have the car the light still comes on and stays on once the car is warmed up.

Doing research it could either be the oil float or ~$870usd (last time I checked) sensor

Sorry for the super late reply, I didn't get any notifications of any of these replies

Level sensor has been known to fail on this era of Lexus.
