Superficial Small Rust Bubbling: Fiberglass vs Welding (or junkyard door shell)
I have rust on my door panel below the window trim. The area is small-ish and doesn't look that deep.
Almost every shop that I went to is looking at $500 to cut and weld a new piece in and take a couple days.
One shop quoted $250 for fiberglass and to only take one day.
Fiberglass seems like a good option because the rust is very superficial and a little worse than bubbling. But I know the right answer is always welding but that looks like overkill on such a small job.
Let me know what you guys think!

That's the tip of the iceberg - you never know how deep it is until you get to clean metal everywhere.
Still, shouldn't take a couple of days to do it properly (patching) vs fiberglass. IMO - do it proper. Might wanna see if the price will change if you take care of the details beforehand (take trim & glass off, etc).
