Interesting. The indicator in the top of the battery said "okay." I assumed it was "okay." I decided to jump it anyway. Guess what? It started. WHy would the indicator say okay (blue ring with red dot in center) but be bad????

I'm going out for a new battery...

Does the car have the original battery? How do you know it is good?

I would bet $20 it's the battery. I have had this happen with 2 of my cars and 3 different friends cars. If I were you, I'd just start by replacing the battery.

Seems these modern cars, with all the electronics, monitor the battery and just say "forget it, ain't even gonna try to start the car".

My Vette was nice though. Would give a waring (not start on first turn of key - but always on the 2nd).

Default I second that Houston GS!

Get the red Optima and you'll have plenty of crank or get the yellow for deep cycle if you have tv's, audio system and so on...

I called Lexus dealership and service guy said it was the battery. He said they call those little indicators "lying eyes" because they "never" work. I had a bad cell. Got a new 84 month Lexus N/C under warranty. whoopie!!!! It did take 4.5 hrs. 3 hr drive and 1.5 hrs at dealership.

Don't you just love how slooowly things run at the dealership? I was in there for 45 mins today picking up new floor mats, and I still had to lay them in there myself. ha ha...
