The dealer told me today that my rear bumper cover was impacted and needs replacement. Quoted me $1100. I took a look online to see if I can buy this piece for cheaper and have them install it. Turns out I can purchase it for $230 (from another LEX dealership here https://parts.rallyelexus.com/p/Lexu...216978030.html
Does anyone have any experience with buying your own part and getting it successfully installed? My concern is if that would be sufficient, and there are no additional bolts and nails that I should also get. Wondering if this is sufficient for them to get the job done and save me a few hundred.
Has the rear cover already been removed? If not there may be some incidentals that appear so that is an unknown until they get in there. I bring in owner supplied parts to my indy and he installs them. Just no warranty on them because I bought them outside their parts channel. A competent body shop if you have one could do it also.
