Help with replacing my A/C Compressor on a 92 SC300
Hey Guys,
My AC Compressor on my 92 SC300 went out last week. I think I can tackle replacing it myself.
Does anyone have any tips or pointers?
Do you take it out from the bottom or the top of the car. From the top it looks like the power steering pump will have to be removed first. But from the bottom it looks like the Tie rods would be in the way so I'm not sure which is easier.
I don't have a shop manual, Can someone write me a synopsis from the shop manual or scan the pages that talk about replacing the compressor. I can compensate anyone who can help me out. Or if your in the Indianapolis Area can I take a look at the shop manual.
Thanks!!

If I were you I wouldn`t hassle with the a/c for the amount of money you save it just isnt worht it. let someone who has the tools to work on a/c do it. They will probable do a better, and quicker job.

I just had my power steering pump replaced and it set me back $850. I wouldn't touch that a/c compressor even if saved me a $1000!!! Sorry, but these cars are just too complex for me and 60 piece tool set from Craftsmen.

A/C
I recently installed the water pump on my SC4 which seems a bit more complex than the SC3, while doing it I had to partially remove the compressor, so you can do it, it just wont be a 20 minute job.
