'92 sc300 How important is this piece I broke off my starter
I have a stock 1992 sc300. My starter was doing the whole "click, click" bit. So yesterday I removed the starter, took it apart, cleaned it, replaced the contacts, lubed it up and reassembled it. My problem is that when I was removing the starter I accidentally broke these stupid little rubber pieces off. I believe they are dust protectors or something. I'm just wondering how important these pieces are and if there is any way I can possibly reattach them before I reinstall the starter? Or if they are even really necessary. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure everything is good before I put the starter back in. Plus I don't want to deal with that 14mm top bolt any more than absolutely necessary. What a pain!

Frustrated, pregnant lady needs advice! Please!
Come on CL! I'm pregnant and getting frustrated! Can someone please help me find a solution? I'm going to be bummed if I have to put this starter back in without having any new info about these stupid rubber dust protectors. This car is my DD and I need it by tomorrow morning, Monday, for my ultrasound appointment. Please help! My mechanic recently moved away and I don't have his new phone number. I really don't want to end up having to re pull the starter after I've already returned the extenders and tools I borrowed to get the darn thing out. Ugh. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Possibly 28199-74110 why not walk into a dealer and ask? Or give them a call.
