Engine Misfire Intermittently 1994 LS400
Hello Everyone,
I am having problem with my 1994 Lexus LS400. The problem is Engine Misfire Intermittently .
-At the begin the Engine only misfire when the
temperature needle is in the middle between Normal and Cold only. Recently, it's also misfire even when normal temperature under acceleration.
I brought my car to the Lexus dealer for diagnostic, and they said they could not find any problem with my car, and said my car is in perfect condition. I then told them to have the Technician drive my car for few days. After the Technician drove my car for a day he said yes, there is misfire as I stated above. He then worked with three others Technician on my car and could not sure where to fix it.
They wanted to replace all spark plugs and cables, and one of the idle sensor it will cost $1,070.00 dollars and will not guarantee nor any warranty of the replacement above will solve problem. I then bring car home and researching in the Internet to seek for helps.
Please give me an ideal how to cure or pin point where is the problem might be.
I have few years experience on auto mechanics (1980-1985) I think I will understand your advices and directions.
Thanks.

start by changing your own spark plugs and wires depending on how many miles you have... those misfires are around the ignition area.. so that should be the problem, the wires doesnt really matter what brand you get.. but the plugs have to be NGK double plat... or Denso/Toyota (just to be safe)

Try to clean up your fuel injector first. It's very easy, get one of those cleaner which you can mix with gasoline. (Chevron gas stations sell it). Drive your car normally until you need to fill up your fuel tank. Add one more bottle cleaner for the second time. It Should work out !!. If it doesn't, then you need to check your fuel filter and probably replace it.
FYI, Lexus fuel injectors should be in a good condition until you reach 200,000 miles. Plus never drive your car until it sucks up all the gasoline in your tank (the "yellow warning light" will lights up on your dash), you will suck up all the dirt inside the fuel tank through your fuel injector to the combustion chamber.
If it still does not work then there is a place in Texas which sells a rebuild fuel injectors for a really good deal. Let me know
Goodluck,
Dominic
