I'm exporting my Lexus 2007 RX 350 to Costa Rica. There is a Lexus dealer there but multiple people have told me US parts are not comparable with Costa Rica parts. That the plugs, water pumps, transmission etc. are all different and the dealer won't be able to get local parts. Thus the cost of maintenance would sky-rocket.

Has anyone else run into this? Foreign parts being different from the US model?

 

In some instances, yes, but most of the important, hard parts will be the same...
