SC430 Creaking noise
I was told to forward this message to you at the Maintenance Forum:
I have a Black/Black SC430 and, needless to say, I am completely OBSESSED and INFATUATED with the car!!
I do have one particular issue, however. I have noticed a "creaking" from the rear roof pillars (I think). The noise, which is subtle but clearly noticeable, seems to only occur on one side at a time and primarily happens when driving over a bump -- whether big or small. I am not sure if the noise comes from the rubber located at the junction of the window and the roof rubbing against the window or the roof itself.
Have you heard of this complaint from other SC430 owners? Are there any solutions to this problem?
If you need any more information, I would be more than happy to provide it. Any assistance on this topic would be GREATLY appreciated.

You van try this old trick by use WD40 and lube around the rubber area with the roof half way open. If noise still occur then you may need to take it to dealer. I have this problem before, but it turn to be the pillar rubbing against the roof.
I recently heard that where ever you would use WD40 to stop a squeak or a creak, use AmorAll protectant instead. If does a better job and won't dissolve off as fast as WD40.
I used to swear by the WD. I tried the AmorAll on the screen door last summer, hasn't squeaked yet.
just my .02.

The sc430 has many Rice Crispi (snap/crackle/pop) issues at this time. Each one needs to be inspected with detail. If the WD/Armor All fix does not work. You need to take a spin with your dealerships lead tech and point out the specific noise so they can address it.
Trust me when I say "A noise doesn't have to be loud to drive you up the wall!".
Good Luck!
