I was told not to use Dexcool type antifreeze in my Lexus. I was told to only use Dexcool in vehicles that it intitially came in. Bogus or not, that is the question?

 

Why change? You can change but it is not worth the time and effort.

I would stay with what you have.

 

I'm talking about the 30,000 mile radiator fluid change. Just the regular maintenance schedule of changing your antifreeze every 30,000 miles. I was considering at my 60,000 service, switching over to the Dexcool.

 

Stay with Toyota Life Long Coolant( red in color).

 

VVT-i - I used to also think that all long life red coolants were red, orange, and purple. Not true. As far as the older ES that use EG coolant Lexus addes a red dye to it. So they use regualr green coolant the somewhere in the process of making it or when added to car they add the dye (to turn red).
