Default fuel guage does not work 1992 sc400

In my 1992 SC400 I purchased a fuel pump from a salvage yard. My fuel guage only reads full since then. The fuel pump that I put in did not look exactly like my removed pump but I do not know if that mattered. It did appear to be a plug and play situation. help please.

my bet would be that the fuel level sender is either incorrect or just plain doesn't work...

if you are feeling it, simply pull them both apart, transfer the pump from the used unit you bought into yours, then you get the working pump and the working fuel level sender...

I bet you are correct however I threw away the old pump because I thought the replacement one was working perfect. It took me a couple of days to relize that my fuel guage was not moving.
