suspension
i purchased a 1995 ls400 with 126000 miles on it and one of my biggest concerns is the air suspension. i love the way it rides but i know its very costly if it goes bad.whats the longest you have ever heard of and air suspension lasting? Also i had and 86 lincoln with air ride and when that went bad i put a ford taurus shocks and stuts on it for a lot less money.if mine goes bad could i use the suspension off another toyota?

Bad news
My rear air strut failed end of last August,my 91 LS has 73k miles,
The Lexus service advisor told me air strut usually fail after 10 years, regardless of mileage:eek: But I heard some air strut failed at 45k miles.
Also there is no warning:eek: Usually in the morning you notice your LS sag to one side. That is!
And I'm not aware of any other toyota using the same air strut as the LS. But I know the new 4 Runner has the rear sir suspension and I wonder what air strut they use? Someone in this forum may know.
Oh, It cost me $1,100.00 to replace just one air strut (right rear) and the height control valve. That really hurt I am praying everymorning before I open my garage door.
May I suggest to start a "air strut saving account to cover the future replacment cost. Good Luck

You may also want to look at the Cressida's suspension (85-89) since that car is a rear wheel drive just like the LS. But then, how about the regular 95-97 LS suspension. Can it be transplanted from a 95-97 LS parts car?
