Default Dead SC400 Dont know what to do!

please help!!!

My 92 sc400 died. what happened was while i was driving, my temp guage shot straight up, then all my lights on the Dash led up, tried pulling to the side but she died while going to the curb, opened the hood up, steam and smoke coming from the engine. . notice Cracked radiator, no oil. . had to tow her home my nieghbor said, most likely i'd cracked my heads, head gasket is gone, water in the oil, need a new radaitor. . might as well get a whole new engine so my question is. . i know my engine is gone. . but whats cheaper?! get another engine or rebuild? or do i have anymore options?

P.S. Sucks when people stare at you while driving pass you.. but don't ask if you need help. .

That's suck!

What's the mileage on the odometer and when was the last time the radiator hoses were replaced?

Get a knowledgable mechanic to test for the extent of engine damage and how much it would cost to fix it. A repaired overheated engine usually doesn't run right thereafter. You said there is "no oil"? If the is corrrect, you're in for DOUBLE jeopardy (overheated + no oil = toasted engine). Meanwhile, start looking for a used engine from Japan with low mileage, which is preferable over rebuilt engine especially for engine that is as durable as the Lexus V8.

PS. Did you ever stare at people with car troubles while driving pass them without asking if they needed help?

Well i got the car back in 97, with the mileage at 94k on it. . now it has 182k hehe but i get regular services. . I'll get someone to look at the car later today to have it estimated. . but mostly its better off getting a new engine. . does anyone know the labor on that?!?!?

Oh and yeah i did stare at people on the road without offering some help. . soo now i know how they feel

Lexus engine for sc400 is extremely cheap. But installation might be expensive because too many wires and junk. I got my use engine and installation last year on my sc400 for $3,100. Engine mileage: 67,000 on them. Very cheap I think.
