Default Glue on windshield - suggestions to clean?

I have glue on my windshield of my RX400H. (The glue came from a parking fine that the police glued to my windshield!)

I'm about to try traditional window cleaner, but am 99% sure it will not remove the glue. If I need to use some stronger cleaning fluid, can anyone recommend something that would not damage the windshield? Any words of caution, aside from avoiding ammonia-based cleaning fluids?

Thanks in advance!

use a a regular razor blade.

i seriously doubt you'll damage the glass. when you get the adhesive off then use good ol' windex!

nothing wrong with ammonia either, especially on the outside....

ammonia is only bad for window tinting, which is only on the inside...

The razor blade is the *best* solution for all IMO.

Nothing really cleans like the blade. It takes off a layer of goop that has settled on the windsheild over a long period of time. I remember doing mine, i was shocked to see how dirty my clean windsheild really was!

Razor to get the bulk, followed by goo gone with microfiber rub and presto... good as new.

Goo gone really is the bomb and won't hurt your paint as it is citrus based... get a bottle, you'll use it around the house and garage a lot... I do
