Default Could replacing an Axel throw off an alignment?

I recently took my Grandma's '08Civic into the dealership because it sounded like the axle was bad considering the clicking noise that was caused by turning the wheel all the way while backing out of the drive way. Long story short, they replaced it under warranty.
Yesterday, I went to install new tires for her, and the installer said the alignment was way off.

My question is: Can the alignment be thrown off by replacing the axle?

Thanks in advance!!

i worked at acura for a number of years as a mechanic, there is no way replacing the axle will change the alignment specs if done properly.

there is however a chance that the tech who did it took too many parts off to replace the axle (even then the likelyhood of throwing the alignment off is very remote), but because you said it was warranty, chances are the tech who works at honda knows the short cuts.

i would suggest that the guy who said you need an alignment is the problem. most people who install tires also perform alignments, thus making more work and money for themselves. it also covers there butt if you have a problem and have abnormal wear.

not to mention, how does somebody look at a car and see the alignment is out??? impossible
