Default IS 250 30k Service Help

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what is required for a 30k mile maintenance on a 2006 IS250 AWD (i.e. tranny fluid, coolant, diff fluid, brake fluid, spark plugs, etc)? Also, if there are any guides on changing those required items, can you please point me to them (esp. tranny fluid, brake fluid, and spark plugs, spark plugs look difficult to access and never did tranny fluid or brake fluid on this model before).

Thanks!
Dom

Your transmission fluid is 100k, same goes for your spark plugs and coolant. At 30k, id bleed/flush your brake fluid, do an oil and filter change, change the engine and cabin air filters, and do the differential fluids. Nothing too involved. The differentials just need to be drained and refilled.. Replace the filters, etc.

My IS did 30K service on 3/09. According the work order, the dealership changed the oil, brake fluid. Also replaced the engine & cabin air filter. That's it. It costs me $300.

Thanks for the replies guys - I know the antifreeze and tranny fluid are considered "lifetime" with their 100k service intervals but I've always done them at 30k intervals for for a couple of Rav4's that are in the family, and those cars always seemed to run smoother after changing the fluids. Is the tranny fluid difficult to change? I can clearly see the drain plug under the car, it is actually easy to mistake for the oil pan drain plug, but not sure where the fill plug is or if it just gets refilled through the dipstick (if there is one). Any guidance would be much appreciated.

The transmission is tricky to refill properly. You need a scanner to see what the trans fluid temp is. You are supposed to fill it within a specific range of trans temp. There is no dipstick. I wouldnt recommend doing a drain and refill on the trans yourself.

Interesting...on the AWD model, does the front diff/transfer case share fluid with the trans or are they separate drain/fills? Thanks once again for the info.
