Radio reception in RX300
Does anybody have issues with their radio reception in their RX300? 99% of the time it sounds great; but everytime I drive under a cement overpass, AM goes dead until I come out of it (1/2 a second later).
Is this normal? None of my other cars have ever had this problem. I figure that maybe Lexus uses crappy radio attenas?

i just got a new 2002 LS430 and the radio reception is really bad.the AM and FM reception disappears in tunnels and I get very bad FM reception if I am more than 12-15 miles from the radio transmitter. what a bummer. I get much better reception in my 1991 thunderbird. dealer says he cannot fix this problem and told me to get a life. Itold him that I thought I was living life to the fullest by splurging and getting "the best car in the world at any price".he gave me a blank look like he didn't get the picture. I WANT GREAT RECEPTION IN MY $65,000 CAR. CAN ANYONE HELP?!
People still listen to AM!?!
My reception on my 2000 RX is great, that is the station will tune in fine, but it isn't loud enough. It is MUCH better in our '99 LS, much louder. Not a big deal to be though, b/c I used the CD player 95% of the time, and the sound is great.
..and hleo1, can you indulge me with Boxter pictures

No complaints about the sound, but getting stuck in traffic on the way to work under 2 miles of overpass (remember the thing that caved in during the '89 San Francisco earthquake?) is a bummer when the radio stops working.
Maybe I should wrap the car in tin foil for a retro "stealing cable TV" look. No doubt the reception would be better.
