They will take a small loss to get you in and recommend other problems to be corrected (if any) and try to up sell you. Do it. Its a free oil change and car wash. Selected few? I think not.

It's on the up and up. Never pressured, get in and get out. With the tech or service associate going over everything. Again once in a lifetime thing, we took advantage of the lifetime oil, tire and battery promotion for the GS and GX. Couldn't get the SC due to the "cough" 1jz in it. LOL.
We are really happy and lucky that we was sent the coupon.

The catch is that once they get you in for a simple oil change, they can start up selling stuff to you. Trans service, brakes, suspension, engines. Seems like a really good deal though. I'd do it, and just be careful on any mark up on up sells.

There is no catch and no they did not try to sell us anything we didn't need. Drive in request oil change or service and deduct the cost of Oil Change and drive out. It is/was very professional and no pressure. I can't explain it no simpler than that. Just a one time promotion they was running that we was lucky to be part of. There was no mark up or shady business practices.

My father purchased a lifetime oil change service for his new Saturn back in 1995. It cost him about $200 at the time. He kept his cart until Sept 2007. He said it was the best deal he ever got. An oil change is worth about $30 so with four per year it would have cost him about $1400 in twelve years for oil changes. He always had his car repaired at Saturn but I don't think Saturn was able to squeeze the $1200 he saved in oil changes through any kind of superfluous repairs.
If you plan to keep your car a long time prepaid oil changes is a good bargain.

From what I've heard about these types of lifetime Lexus service agreements, the only stipulation is that all your maintenance must be done be a Lexus dealer (and possibly the same dealer) for this lifetime deal to remain valid. If you prefer going to your dealer for all your maintenance, then all is good!
