im trying to help my brother change his alternator on his 92 SC400, but im a noob with lexus. im a honda guy. haha
i was searching for a pic of the tensioner , but i didnt find any.
heres a pic. can anyone point out the tensioner so i can remove the belt and change his alternator.

wow... I hate to say it, but if you don't know how to take a serpentine belt off, you might not want to tackle an alternator...
all you do is take a wrench/ratchet that size and rotate counter clockwise... that bolt does not come off, but in doing that, you will rotate the tensioner down and to your left, and it will loosen the belt...
the alternator is a pain in the *** to get out once you have removed it - you will need to move some lines out of the way (that are attached just behind the front anti-sway bar) - I don't remember for sure, but its either power steering or trans cooler lines, hell, maybe A/C.... anyways - they don't need disconnected, just the brackets that hold them in place need unbolted so you can push them out of the way... the alternator goes down - there is not enough room for it to come out of the engine bay going up...
but, although this is relatively straightforward, please make sure you know what you are doing... it really worries me that you don't know how to remove a serpentine belt with an auto tensioner....
