Default P/S pump for ES300 (2nd Gen.)

I am looking for a replacement power steering pump for a 1993 ES300.
Does anyone know for sure whether or not the Camry V6 p/s pump and the Lexus ES300 p/s pump are interchangeable?
I was quoted a price of over $700 for a new pump from Lexus. I'd rather get one from Toyota at probably a much better price if it is useable.

Thanks.

Default Anyone?

Surely there must be someone on this forum who knows whether or not the power steering pump for the Toyota Camry V6 is compatible (interchangeable) with that for the ES300 ('93)

The 94 Camry p/s pump will work. It's really tight spot and make sure you plug the little electric connector at the pump back when you re-install the new pump. That little connector control the speed of cooling fan for you radiator. If you don' t plug it back your car will overheat at idle.

Default 1993 ES300 vs. 1994 Camry V6 power steering pump

The 1992-1993 ES300 (3VZFE engine) and 1992-1993 Toyota Camry V6 (3VZFE) P/S pumps are exactly the same. However, Camrys with the 1MZFE engines (built from 8/93 to 7/94) call for a different pump. The difference is the angle of the upper return hose pipe and the mounting bracket style. The 1994 Camry V6 pump is the same as 1994-1996 ES300 (1MZFE).

Basically, the 1MZFE pump's upper pipe is angled down slightly, about 30 degrees. In addition to the two mounting "ears", it also has a third, threaded ear. The 3VZFE pump's pipe is straight (in line with the horizon). It has only two mounting ears (and one ear is offset in a rearward direction).

Hope this helps. Good luck!
