What to do if Tranny is leaking from Bellhousing?
I recently found out that my transmission is leaking, pretty decent when hot. The oils drips onto the exhaust pipes, where white smoke exits the car from the rear.
I lifted it up and found it is occuring where it bolts up to the motor at the bellhousing.
What can be done short of taking it to the tranny shop? If that is the only solution, then how much do you guys think I am in for $$$ wise?
Thanks,

Sounds like the input shaft seal on the trans or the TC seal is leaking. You can try putting in some stop leak from your local auto parts stores. They sometimes work. Sometimes not. It is not a permanent solution. The trans must come out for the seal to be replaced. Not a difficult task, just a little labor consuming. Since your in there, may as well put it a performance TC.

Either an engine rear main seal or a transmission front pump seal... could be either. Is the fluid red like trans fluid or brown like engine oil... either way the trans has to come out.
