Default Neighbors New ES350 Transmission Failed

Wow, my neighbor just purchased the premium ES350 and the transmission seized Car had to be towed to the dealer and apparently Lexus is getting them another car. This was their first Lexus similar to myself with the IS350. The new Lexus factory making these cars seems to be having some growing pains. My neighbor was not impressed, but at least they are getting a new car. I myself have about 7 sample defects that need to get addressed at the dealer soon. Hopefully my issues will be fixed over the next few months.

Wow, that's the first ES350 case I've heard with a failed transmission. Hopefully it won't set the tone for the rest of the new ES's around the world. Around how many miles it occurred at? Nice to hear the dealership will be hooking them up with a new Lexus

eh, Probably a freak incident. Every model has those few of the bunch that suck. Just bad luck I'd say, at least with Lexus you know they will give them a brand new car exactly like the old one + a few little extra goodies to compensate for the inconvenience.

Actually it might be related to the new Camry's transmission issues. Toyota already issued a recall for them as the transmission basically lost 1 or more gears withing 1000 miles of operation

I think they use a different supplier than normal for their new FWD 6 speed automatic trannies, so that might be the culprit.

Well, I think it's Toyota building the trannies themselves, instead of having Aisin-AW build them from the start. I was at the Toyota dealer by my house getting a oil filter and T-IV ATF for my mom's Sienna and I saw a 2005 Sienna on the rack that needed a new tranny.
