Mobil 1 0w20 is a great oil. But it is indeed discountinoued according to Mobil

Virgin oil analysis shows TBN of 11. I would love to buy the GF-4 0w20 when it becomes available again. 5w20 gets the nod for now.
With anything new, if it is not endorsed by Toyota, most people hesitate to use it. Actually brand appeal (in this case Toyota) supercedes underlining scientific reasons and data.
This funny picture says it all. You will see a lot more people use synthetic oil once Toyota uses it as a factory fill. It is not right or wrong, just the way it is.

I am running a 5w-20 Royal Purple as we speak. I like it , but turns out a new GS430 is still faster than my 182,000 mile 94 LS. So much for miracles!

20 weight oil is not a miracle oil. IMHO, it serves our needs better: a slight better mpg and power along with better wear protection.

5W-20 oil is a thinner oil with lighter viscosity that creates less drag on the crankshaft, pistons and valvetrain. Additionally, the oil pump can pump thinner oil more easily, improving oil circulation. Any increase in fuel economy may not be noticed by the average motorist. Machined internal engine parts are more precise than the parts of 20 years ago. This means that clearances between moving parts are smaller and more exact. Thinner oil such as 5W-20 can flow more freely through the engine while still filling the spaces. Thicker oil is harder to push through the spaces between the parts. This causes the oil pump to work harder, which in turn increases oil pressure while simultaneously decreasing oil volume. A lack of oil volume results in a decrease of lubrication and cooling, which may decrease engine part life.

No retail auto parts store has M1 0w20 their shelves in my area. Not even a label. Autozone and Pepboys sells 5w20 though, but since AZ has this $30 for 5 quarts M1 plus a M1 EF filter deal, all 5w20 are sold out in the two stores near me.
Here is a list someone compiled for 5w20 oil. My personal choice is Amsoil 5w20 for my Acura J32A2 engine and M1 5w20 for my RX300 1mzfe.

Take a look this excellent used oil analysis on a Toyota Thundra V8 with 113K on the odometer and has put over 13K on Mobil1 5w20. TBN is still 2.6, all metal particles counts (iron, copper, and aluminum) are low.

Indeed a great UOA, seems that toyota v8's and mobil 1 oil go great together. With that said I am not thrilled with the flashpoint at 365

With ever increasing demand and competition to help improve fuel economy and performance in cold climates, Toyota Motor Corporation has decided to use 0W20 as one way to continue its technical leadership in the industry. Utilizing low viscosity engine oil (0W20) is one of the most efficient ways to help improve fuel economy and it also helps improve cold starting in extreme temperatures.
However, understanding that a complete and sudden transition from 5W30 to 0W20 may not be appropriate due to pricing, availability and compatibility issues, these new engines have been developed to also accept 5W30 engine oil, which is more readily available. We will also be introducing a 5W20 engine oil to launch on May 1st.
Vehicle Applications: The 2006 RAV4 4-Cylinder was the first engine to come with 0W20 motor oil as factory fill. In 2006 (2007 Model Year), the following vehicles will also be introduced with 0W20:
