Talking My Baby's Nipple Leaking

No idiot, not my girlfriend's nipple...The damn drain nipple where you drain the radiator is dripping . I tried trightening to no avail. How tight do you guys have it? Also, should I go ahead and drain the whole thing and put thread tape on before I thread the plug back on? Can my radiator be busted or a quick fix? Thanks
