My cargo door will not open no matter what I do. I am out oftown on a trip and would like any assistance to get the door open. I thought of removing one of the lights in the rear panel but can not even figure out how to change the light bulb much less removing the entire unit. Is there a way to get the door to open from the inside? Help.

 

Ive seen this a few times... it happens when the lock rod becomes overextended. There is an updated part to fix this... Unfortunately there isnt much you can do while out though... What we've tried, and sometimes works, is lighting hitting the area around the handle, while alternating hitting the lock and unlock buttons on the remote... sometimes this will free the rod and allow the door to open... also, you can do the same thing, while lifting the handle over and over... in the end, you will need to go to the dealer and have the door fixed.

 

Thanks you. I will try this as an immediate but not permanent fix. I've owned 8 Lexus autos since 1995 and not a problem with any ot them. I own three Lexus now.
