1UZ-FE transplant possible??
I know that the First gen gs300 (aristo) was offered in a V-8 application in japan..My question is, how hard would it be to install a 1UZ-FE motor in a first gen gs???What modifications would be needed and would a motor from an sc or ls work??Engine, tranny, ecu and harness..What else might be needed???
i think the trannies were the same 4speed... but i think you would need to make custom brackets and custom engine mounts. You would also need to add ECU or go standalone... wiring may be messy to do. overall i think going turbo is better option than doing the 1UZ swap.
I had no idea the 1st generation Aristo was offered as a V8. I just thought it was sold as the 2JZ-GE and 2JZ-GTE turbo model. What was the designation on the model? Also, is the current Aristo available in V8 (like the GS430) or just the TT I-6?
I, too, had always wondered about the feasibility of doing a V8 swap into a 1st gen GS, by using a donor motor from an SC400 or LS400 of the same vintage.
