Default Siphoning Gas - 2nd Gen GS

Has anyone succesfully siphoned gas from a 2nd gen GS? I have to enter HIN today in Charlotte (car show) with 1/4 tank of gas or less, and I haven't been able to run it all out due to detailing the car. Decided to siphon it out rather than drive the fresh detail around town.

I bought a siphon pump to pull out about 5 gallons, but haven't been able to get any fluid no matter how I snake the hose around in the tank. It goes down in a long way, but doesn't seem to reach any gas.

Any ideas?

Should be easy, just put the hose in the tank down far, place the other end outside even farther down and start suckin!! You have to make sure you have a nice smooth path of flow and that the outer end is further below than the end in the tank

Thanks, but I ended up just driving the gas out... I thought it would be that easy, but it wasn't. I tried two different siphons (one bulb, one pump - no sucking ) with no luck on either. It's like the main part of the tank wasn't where I could snake the tube to.

This is hard to do Dave, because the gas tank on the GS4 in right under the cushion of the back seat. It's ( almost) a split designed that has 2 big tanks on the left and right side, then connected by a smaller tank( to go over the drive shaft). Lexus used venturi jet to suck the gas from one side to another side where the fuel pump located. We have to use a scan tool to emtpy the gas tank.
