Default 2011 LX 570 high mileage buying advice

Hi guys,

I just joined this forum. Currently I'm looking for used 2011 LX 570 high mileage for my family. There is one in Lexus dealer. It listed as Pre-Owned. I need the advice's from you guys.

1. I checked the history of the car, the owner had regular maintenance every 7000 miles. The car is very good shape. Since it had 129k miles, are there any problems? How much mileage I can put on it?
2.The car have the luxury package and it include remote stater. Dealer asked for 31k. How much can I negotiate?

Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

You're looking at a truck with an average of ~ 22K miles per year...afaik, that's definitely high mileage...I guess I'd expect that to lower blue book on the LX. Given your location, have you personally looked at the truck on a lift with all lower panels removed...If the truck was driven in the rust belt with that many miles, I'd expect a rusty mess underneath, and I'd personally pass on the vehicle. If it's the silver LX in Hingham, I think it's interesting that the dealer hasn't posted any pics showing the underside of the truck.

I'd also want to see at least one or preferably two AHC fluid changes and the same with the transmission. I'd also strongly suggest replacing the heater hose "T's" given the mileage.

The majority of LX's have the luxury package, remote starter is normally added at the port of entry and not at the factory.

You can negotiate to your heart's content...how much depends on how long the truck has been for sale, how it's priced for your region, and your negotiation skills. I'd offer $25K cash for starters. I would pass on just about anything pushed by the finance and insurance person...e.g., long term warranty, paint "protection", and other similar stuff.

Does the dealer show it as CERTIFIED pre-owned, or just pre-owned?

Thank you for your reply. I visited 2 weeks ago at Lexus Hingham. Unfortunately, the car couldn't start as the rear liftgate didn't close correctly cause the battery to drain.
Dealer said no negotiation on the price at that time. I will visit tomorrow to check and do test drive. If everything is good, I will offer $25k cash. My maximum can go is $27k.

I don't see any pictures showing the underside of the truck. For pre-owned vehicle, will Lexus dealer perform any check before sell to customer?
From the last maintenance at 129k, I only see tire rotation and replace front wiper.
I'm not sure if they have done similar service maintenance like this:

60,000 mile service performed
Air filter replaced
Anti-theft/keyless remote battery replaced
Antifreeze/coolant checked
Brake fluid flushed/changed
Brake rotor(s) resurfaced
Brakes checked
CV boot(s) checked
Cabin air filter replaced/cleaned
Differential fluid checked
Drivability/performance checked
Drive belts checked
Driveshaft serviced
Exhaust system checked
Floor mat(s) checked
Fluids checked
Front brake pads replaced
Fuel system checked
Fuel system cleaned/serviced
Maintenance reminder reset
Oil and filter changed
Paint sealant/protection checked
Rear brake pads replaced
Rear brake rotor(s) replaced
Ride height system repaired/adjusted
Steering/suspension checked
Tires rotated
Transfer case fluid checked
Transmission fluid/oil leak checked
Undercoating/rustproofing inspected
The vehicle listed as Pre-Owned. I also checked the VIN number on Lexus website with all history of the vehicle.

Thank you.

Do not think Lexus would Certify a vehicle like this. I would have it checked out for sure. $25K might sound good but if something is wrong it can cost big time.

I think it's worth $100 or so to have a pre-purchase inspection done...at a shop not affiliated with the sale.

No doubt about that. No way I would purchase without it being looked over really good. Does not take too much to end up with a 5k repair bill. They are great vehicles but subject to abuse just the same. $100 well spent.

Sorry to hear it was sold already. People in the know grab these LX up quick.

My old 2000 LX470 that I traded in for a brand new 2013 LX570 back in 2013 had 280K + miles and no problems. I went back to the Lexus dealership the next day to retrieve my CD's I forgot in the CD changer......my old LX470 was already SOLD and GONE!!!! But the Lexus dealership had retrieved the CD's for me.
