Interior LED change out question
Good morning everyone. I recently purchased a 2013 LX. I am in the process of upgrading the interior lights to LED. In changing the dome lights, does the transparent light cover come off or does the whole thing need to be dropped down to get at the bulbs. I have done a search and did not see much. Kind of a mix bag of lighting on the LX. The headlights are HID, but the fogs are incandescent on the 13's. Some lights on the interior are LED's like the spot lights, others are not. Thank you in advance for any help....Steve

Welcome to the LX forum!
To get to the dome lights, take a flat screwdriver and gently pry the cover off near the tabs.
The running board lights are also easy to replace, just reach behind the light, twist them off and change the bulb.
I used 7.5w 194s for the running boards, these are lit when you approach, unlock, or open the door. They are slightly brighter than stock.
The fog lights in this vehicle are headlight grade H11 bulbs with nice output once upgraded. The fogs put out more light on the road than the same Opt7 bulb in my projector high beam. Check carcarekiosk section on the Land Cruiser for instructions on how to replace the fogs: https://www.carcarekiosk.com/
Most of the interior lights, as well as the running board lights, are the 194 standard. When upgrading the door bulbs, I found I needed to remove the 5A fuse (fuse #54 on page 787 here: https://carmanuals2.com/get/lexus-lx...s-manual-88937 ) to keep it from blowing as the lights stay lit whenever the door is open (tailgate doesn't actuate the running board/door lights, you can keep the rear door open without the lights on).

You are welcome. If you don't need the 3rd row seats, I recommend jettisoning them ASAP. They are 115 pounds you can take off the rear axle as well and free up a lot of the cargo space, they are easy to remove and replace.
