Front License Plate Bracket
I just moved to MN, which requires a front plate. Dealer wants $70 for bracket, which seems crazy. Does anybody have one they are not using and willing to part with it?
My LX is a 2014 year model.
Thanks

I currently live in a state where only a rear license plate is required, but previously I lived where you had to have both, yet I didn't have the front one for aesthetic reasons. No one ever bothered me for several years, so long as I didn't violate some other traffic laws. Do they enforce the front/rear plate law in MN at all?

Check the storage compartment in the tail gate. Ours came from a no front plate state and in the compartment back there the front plate mount and screws etc were all packaged up. Looks like it had been there since it was new. Could not bring myself to screw two holes into the bumper skin though so mounted a little lower in the lower grille.

$70 is crazy. The original dealer who sold you the car should have it installed for you. Try contact them and have the bracket mailed to you.
I didn't have a front plate for years until I got a fix-it ticket. Went to my dealer and they installed it for me for free.

In states where 2 license plates are required but where people who own hi-line cars typically get a pass driving with just the rear one, dealers will typically not install the front license plate, unless the customer specifically requests it. If you must have it, go to the dealer, who sold you the car and they WILL install it for free. If you bought it out-of-state and wish to comply, just cough up the money to get the job done right and move on.

I bought the LX new form Hennessy in Atlanta while I lived in TN. It came with the the bracket (not mounted), but I threw it away thinking I would never need it. This is my wife's DD and there's no reason to not mount the plate as we do not want to provide our friendly LPOs a reason to stop us.
