Restoring/Maintaining Wood Trim?
Club Lexus community: I tried to help myself first on the internet, but figured you guys might have better ideas than taking sandpaper to the trim.
I bought a 2017 LX, and the biggest flaws I have is that the center wood dash trim is faded as it appears the car was kept outside in Florida its whole life. The center dash wood is noticeably faded compared to the side trim. The steering wheel trim finish is worn on the right side above the leather.
Is there some kind of treatment, I'm almost thinking like furniture oil that I can use to darken the center trim? I've tried test spots on the side with carnauba wax, just to see if it would darken it.
It's not the highly polished trim, looks like a varnished dining room chair type of finish.
Thanks kindly!
