Default LX570 - Tire Recommendation

Hello,

I am looking to get new tires for my 2013 LX570. I still have the same OEM rims on it and looking for tires in the manufacturer recommended size of 285/50/20.
I'm debating between two options:
Bridgestone - DUELER H/L ALENZA PLUS - from Costco - total price is $1108 (after current promotion)
or
Michelin Defender LTX M/S - from Discount Tires - total price is $932 (their sales person gave me a discount).

Live in DFW and don't do any off roading.

Thank you for your help.

the Michelin are much more quieter and softer, I like the ride quality but I feel like they wear out faster than the Dueler. I also want to say I feel that Dueler are little better on the mud and dirt which I think you dont care about.

I use tirerack.com for most of my replacement tires. Their rating system gives an edge to the Michelin Defenders over the Bridgestone Duelers. Their prices are only a bit away from your two local offers.

The original tires for your LX, the Michelin Latitude Tours has the best quality of ride rating. Last year my dealer had a buy 3 get one free promotion on them, which I took advantage of, saving around $250 on the set.

I have no personal experience with either of your options. I will add a bit of advice. If you have not already ditched the locking lugs, do so. Old LX rims are not hot theft items any more, if they ever were. It cost me a tow and hefty labor charge when my LX had a flat and the McGard key stripped out the lug head. I have now gone to 5 standard lug bolts per wheel on both my Lexus vehicles.

I replaced all 4 tires on my LX last year...still opt'ed for the original Michelin Latitude due to their ride quality / comfort / noise level. I had experience with Bridgestone Dueler on Highlanders prior.... yes they are very different vehicles, rides differently..not to mention less sound insulation in the highlander... I didn't like the Dueler....

You can go to a 275/55/20 size tire, not really giving much up in width, and have a whole lot more tire brands and models to choose from. They have the same rolling diameter and will not change you speedometer, etc.
