2013 LX - Nav reboot power loss, electrical issues??
2013 LX 95k miles, new to us at 91k. Prior to our ownership, it lived in Miami FL, and service history shows no electrical issues, other than a new battery every few years.
Just started encountering a very concerning INTERMITTENT issue- while driving.
Over the course the past two weeks we have encountered the following:
1st symptom, while driving the Nav/Infotainment screen “reboots”, Lexus Enform screen appears, then back to normal, navigation screen, and we continue driving.
2nd symptom, same as 1st, but dash board instrument cluster goes dark, then comes back up, some warning lights come on and then go away. Then back to normal, we continue driving.
3rd symptom, after a refuel, car wont turn over, acts like dead battery….then after a few tries….turns over. Then back to normal, we continue driving.
4th symptom, repeat of 2nd symptom. Then back to normal, we continue driving.
5th symptom, while driving the Nav/Infotainment screen “reboots”, but dash board instrument cluster goes dark, then comes back up, some warning lights come on and then go away. THEN, everything DIES. Luckily we were moving at slow speed in our neighborhood, I was able to stop safely. I try to re-start, but nothing. All Dead. I get out to wave a car by, when I get back in, cluster is back up, and battery icon + CEL is on. I am then able to restart car and continue driving. Nav and all other systems come back up, but it show wrong location, by ~25 miles and all trip info is reset. We park the car and leave it until the next morning, get in starts up no problem and drives fine to work.
*additional point of reference= we are in a trial period on XM radio/Traffic
Thanks in advance…..

I have a 2013 also., and I have not had all of the things you list, but a couple.
As a start I would check the status of the battery, and then the quality of the battery connectors. That's easy enough to do. I'm assuming you have the skill set to remove the engine cover and to test the battery
My electrical glitches and intermittent non-starting happened just a few months ago on my 2013. I replaced its battery (I still had the original battery) and electrical gremlins all seem to be resolved. The fact that your 2013 has had its battery replaced more than once is a little strange to me, as my original lasted 6 years. How many batteries has your LX been through since new in 2013? That may be a red flag to a charging system problem. I'd make sure my alternator is working correctly.
This may not be the case for your 2013, but once you eliminate the battery as the culprit, then you can move on to check other things. The next thing I'd investigate would be the charging system, and then an intermittent ground possibility.

Reggie thanks for reply. I will check battery connections.
I thought that multiple batteries was odd also. Service history shows 3 battery replacements, all warranty and all "Lexus" brand batteries.
Yesterday i sent the write up above to my long time service advisor at local dealer and his response was "Sounds like a bad battery, or battery terminal or something of that sort."
So i will check the battery connections, then have the battery tested, then see if it has something to do with the charging system.
I am still open to other input

UPDATE: This past Saturday, I popped the hood, removed the coverings and checked the battery connector and.......what do you know....the negative connection wasn't even tight! I was able to wiggle the connector off the terminal with NO tools. I cleaned it off with a wire brush and tightened the bolt down. So far no issues. I'll check back in a week or two.....
thanks again!
thanks again!
