On my 2017 LX with just over 1000miles, I noticed a noise when we press the brake pedal. I can hear as some pump is running . I can hear this even when the car is idle and rake pedal is pressed. Took it to dealership and they tech says it's comparable to another LX . He also said that GX has similar noise as well I have never heard this noise in my GX or LS.
Xan you guys confirm where'd its a normal noise or brake actuater is bad.
Thanks

Never heard that. Take it back and have Service manager drive with you in the LX, also if he says normal have him show you in a new LX. Tell him other owners on line are calling BS.

Normal. The noise is a function of this vehicle's braking system. My vehicle has 140k and brakes are fantastic.
The original (prior) owner thought it was the brakes squealing as you can hear it inside the cabin. They complained to Lexus service multiple times about this, as the service history shows.
This sound is unique to this Lexus brake system on this vehicle, but rest assured, there is nothing wrong with your vehicle.

Same sound here, almost a hissing. Seems to be normal. Factory brakes are OK, I will move to TRD semi-metalic pads shortly for better initial bite, pedal modulation and cold weather performance.

My truck has perfectly functioning brakes (including brand-new OEM rotors/pads). It makes a quiet sound when the brakes are applied, whether moving or stopped. It sounds a lot like the noise you'd hear when forcefully compressing a gas strut. It's certainly nothing like brake squealing and it's quiet and muted enough that it feels consistent with a luxury car.

It is a normal characteristic of the Hydraulic Actuator Brake System that this, the GX, and the LS have. All Lexus hybrids have them too. Its the pump that builds pressure. Any time the pedal is depressed, it builds pressure. Simply, the system allows you to stop the vehicle with an enormous force on the brakes without actually having to press or stomp the pedal.
