Actually the starter is under the exhaust manifold and not on top of the engine anymore. The only thing in common these repairs have is the air intake/filter housing. 5-10 min savings at best.
The starter is accessed through the wheel well.

Hello all, I'm probably beating a dead horse here, apologies in advance. I'm on the market for an LX. But after deep diving and reading on this forum and other areas on the internet; I can't seem to find which years were the preferred. I am also hearing there are transmission issues? I'm also leaning towards CPO for peace of mind.

From what I've gathered so far looks like I'm going to be targeting 2014 - 2016 with 45K-55K miles @ ~$58K.
  • Are the years fairly reliable?
  • Is the price on point?
Thank you in advance!

Price seems high to me, BUT I'm not looking at ads online nor do I know your location. In areas with real winters, this is probably not the best time to buy.

I bought a 2 year old truck with 50K for $45K cash...flew up the day it was first advertised and drove home. Reliability is bulletproof...you can enter the vin on Lexus.com's owner's section and verify servicing was done when due.

I am not sure what the 'cut off' year will be for Lexus to CPO a vehicle. Can someome clarify? I am leaning (as a educated guess) 4yr (while vehicle still w/in it's factory warranty).

I bought in 2019 a 2013 Lexus LS 460, it was a cpo with 52k miles from Lexus of Las Vegas, so it is definitely more than 4 years.

The vehicle must be less than six years old with fewer than 70,000 miles to qualify
