Default Electric connection for towing

I will be towing a 3000 lb Porsche Cayman loaded on a UHAL rented trailer for around 400 miles in couple weeks, I have the tow hitch mount and 2" ball rated at 10,000 lbs.

My question is with regards to the electric connection between the UHAUL trailers and 13 LX 570, is it standard and plugged in directly into the car socket or I will need some sort of adapter?

BTW, I have towed before boats up to 5500 lbs with Dodge Ram but not LX 570 so I have some towing experience.

I appreciate any input in this regards,

Connection should be standard 7-pin RV connector.

What do you plan to use as a trailer brake controller??

I am not familiar with brake controller, I used to tow with only ball hitch hookup. Is that something to control UHAUL trailer brakes? what do you recommend?

I rented some U-Haul trailers in last few years and all of them had 4-way flat connector. So I think that you will need an adapter.
If nothing changed in last few years, you do not need a brake controller for U-Haul trailers; they have surge brakes.

Nevada law requires brakes on all trailer wheels when the trailer weight is 3000 lbs. or more. My own brakes / no brakes rule is brakes on anything 1500 lbs. or more...guess I'd like to save the trucks brakes a bit, not to mention having controllable electric brakes means I can dial in extra braking if needed in the mountains.

Thanks for the update...surge brakes will meet Nevadas requirements.
