Default LX570 - Vibration

I have just purchased a brand new LX570. And for the past week I have been ‘explaining’ to the dealer sales and service centre that something is wrong. Seriously wrong!

I can only explain that the vehicle vibrates. Whether driving, accelerating or decelerating there is a constant vibration just like driving on a poor road surface. We have superbly flat and new Roads in Dubai, and I drive them every day in my 2 other (far less expensive) 4WD's and I do not feel shaken, stirred or positively nauseous. The only time u feel at ease in my new Lexus is when I am stationary. Transmission also occasionally lags and I can feel the gear changes, sometimes a judder and a bit of a jump as it searches for the gear. Take off is sluggish (i know it's a big car!) but I feel it's not good enough for the car that it is supposed to be.

This is my first Lexus. I opted for the full top of the range with s few extra options and a big spend. This is certainly not the car I was expecting and it is definitely not the Lexus experience that I thought that I would get. What is the problem with vibration? The whole body shakes ( not the steering wheel) albeit mildly, it vibrates almost constantly. it is simply not a smooth drive.

The Lexus service centre has changed all the tyres at 100km claiming flat spots due to transit and storage. The car now has 300 km on the clock. It's not the tyres or the alignment. They claim to have run full diagnostics but found nothing. I can't believe that his issue is on my car only. I have taken 2 other drivers out and they agree with my concerns, something is definitely wrong ! Has anyone else reported to have the same problem with their `LX570 with 21" rims? Dealers, are you aware of this problem?

Get your dealer to have a regional service manager type (not sure of the exact title) come out and check out the car. If dealer agrees there is a vibration and is unable to find the cause, the dealer should have already proactively contacted a tech specialist.

If dealer has not yet escalated to a specialist, imo he's not treating you like a customer. If that's the case, I'd call Lexus of Dubai's main office first thing tomorrow.

I'd agree with you and the other drivers, vibration should not be there. If vibration increases with road speed, I might start by checking the balance of both driveshafts.

Others have reported transmission "issues" with the 8-speed...more info here 8-speed transmission issues

I suspect we will hear more of this with the low profile tires now being standard. Toyota may not have the suspension tuned appropriately for the change in tire size.

Default No vibration here

I have 6500 miles on my 2016 LX since November. I have the 21 inch tires. I've driven on smooth freeway and rough City streets, at sustained speeds of 70 to 90 miles per hour. No vibration. Both the body and steering wheel seem to float rather than vibrate. I use Sport S Mode when want to be more connected to the Road versus Comfort Mode. As noted in the other thread, I only feel vibration from the LDA warning which vibrates the steering wheel when departing a lane or going down an exit without using a turn signal.

I would think if the vibration is this bad that is should not be hard to determine the cause.

One think that every LX I have owned had in common was its glass smooth ride.

Only time I had a vibration was before I learned not to open the sunroof with out slightly lowering a window too.

I just got my new lx and am having the issue with the constant vibration. Took it to dealer and they claim it is normal.

I drive it on different roads and tried all settings, vibration is still there!

Was the dealer in Dubai able to fix it?

I'd take it to another dealer, and / or involve a regional service rep...they move from dealer to dealer helping them with tuff they know zero about. You should not be feeling vibration in a new LX...or an old one, for that matter.

Jd1000 and Emaseeh, Did you test drive the vehicle before you bought it?

The GX 460 I drove, despite larger profile tires, was exactly like that with constant vibrationand one of the reasons I went with an LX instead of a GX. I was not about to have a car payment so I could have a downgraded experience from my ES.
