Sorry. I was thinking that those were either 20s or 21s. That looks sharp!

Default Latitude Tour HP discontinued?

Dealer said Friday that Michelin has discontinued these tires and Michelin Premier is the replacement tire for LX, including 20 inch size. The tech wasn't sure which of the Premiers either, but said he checked with the parts dept and they cannot order the Latitude anymore. Caught me by surprise because Michelin is still showing only the Latitude Tour HP for LX on-line. While the Latitude tires don't last all that long, at least they're quiet. I'm concerned by the reviews I see regarding road noise on the Premier line. Anyone have any info on this? Thanks

I have been using the Michelin Defenders for about 10 months and they have been great in every possible way.

18" Premier on a New Grand Cherokee (it's a new vehicle in a field lot) vs New 17" Defender LTX

The only reason these vehicles come with P-Metric tires is cost. Any LT tire is an improvement.

I'd welcome any suggestions, will be 95 - 99% highway.
I highly recommend Yokohama G94B 285/60R18. It is the Land Cruiser 200 European OE tire. I also recommend the forged Rays volk racing TE37 18x9.5J wheels at ONLY 8.8kg each (19.4lb). Mounted with the G94 tire, the total weight is 27kg (59.5lb) unsprung weight.

Before these, I had the 18inch stock wheel with Dunlop AT22. G94B seems superior. I sold the AT22s to a fellow LX570 owner. I also tried the 20inch with Michelin. Too bumpy ride.

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I have much to consider. But, yesterday received an e-mail from Michelin after my inquiry about tires for LX. Their reply is Tour HP not discontinued, was out of production and now back in production and dealers can order again. I wonder if they had a replacement plan that fizzled out.

If your looking for the best highway tire's get the 275/55/20 Michelin Defender LTX M/S, this Friday I'm installing BFG AT/KO2's 285/55/20. It gives me the largest contact patch, so it should be the safest for both on and off road traction.

I just installed 275 55R20 Yokohama Geolander AT G015 tires on our 2017 mounted on KMC KM702 wheels. Pretty happy with these tires so far. Ride is quiet and smooth (even inflated to 42 psi). I originally replaced the OEM 21 inch wheel/tire combo with 275 55R20 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on these same KMC wheels but my wife did not like the ride or the road noise. Plus, the Duratracs would rub when backing up at full lock whereas the Yokos do not (even though same tire size). And although the ride and noise of the Duratracs did not bother me as much as they did my wife, I did notice (it could just be perception) that the Duratracs just seemed heavier than the Yokos in that they seemed to make the LX more sluggish when accelerating. The Yokos feel more like the stock 21" Dunlop GrandTreks.

Overall, I have been pretty happy with the Yokohamas and it passes muster in my wife's eyes as far as ride goes so that's a win for me!

That combo looks great! I have been looking for pictures of white on black rims. Do you have any outdoor shots of the full profile?

Glad you got your tires installed and the truck repaired Max. What tire pressures are you running and what are your first impressions?
