WeatherTec cargo liner for 2015

They are telling me they will not fit due to the motors for the third row folding seats. I have used these in all of my LX units and they have all fit just fine.

Has something changed or does the guy that is holding up my order know something I do not?

He tells me they will fit fine if I do not have powered third row seats! They have always been powered, it is not an option yet the site says NO!

trungerton 12-17-14 07:44 PM

Fit fine in my 2014 LX!

This is what Weather Tech is emailing to me:

Thank you for your interest in MacNeil Automotive.

I have placed the order on hold for the moment.

Although the majority of the 2015 LX models have the power folding seats, the vehicle can be ordered without this option. The power seats actually have different contours in the rear due to the added motor requirements for the folding seats.

We know the cargo liner will not fit your model. If you still want us to ship the product, we can. However, when returning the part you would be responsible for the shipping costs and the refund is only for the amount of the merchandise.

Please let us know how you would like to proceed and we will be happy to help.

Best regards,

Derek

The picture they show on their site shows power seats and the liner I have used many times.
Is it possible that Derek does not know what he is talking about? I had no idea that you could get a LX without powered 3rd row seating! If so I would have loved to had one as I never use the 3rd row, ever.

I was also looking to purchase this, but the contours of the motor housing and the cutouts in the liner are different - so it won't fit.

I ended up ordering this instead (and got a club lexus discount) which brought the price down to $64.66

Quick pic of ours. Really like ours but wish I would have seen that OEM one also.

I have that in mine but mine also came with an additional full length section that fits the area between the second row and that section that is shown in your picture, providing full coverage for the entire back of the LX. I will go out and take a picture and post.

Did not feel like raising both third row seats for the picture you get the idea. Mine was bought new at Swell in Dallas. Hope this helps. I will say the weather tech seems cheap and plastic compared with the Lexus OEM mats.

ggebhardt 12-22-14 04:14 AM

Ordered the OEMs today!

Thanks everyone for the help!

Merry Christmas!

trungerton 12-22-14 07:47 AM

better pic of the WeatherTec

I wish I would have seen the Lexus OEM one...it seems more "rugged" (and reminds me of something I had in my VW Touareg previously).

Only thing with WeatherTec - you have to cut out your own openings (to fold down the seats, etc).

I just posted a separate thread asking for advice on 15k service, so any thoughts there would be appreciated also :)

You can see where you have to cut it (or slit it) to expose the metal ring loop.

Pulled the junk out to show it. It does cover in between 2nd and 3rd row. We don't use our 3rd row much....yet. (only 1 little monkey currently).

Greg,
when you got your mat from Sewell did it have the extension behind the 2nd row seats?

Are you pleased with the mat if you have received it and had time to check it out?

thanks,
Dave

It did not make the UPS cut today and it will not be delivered until Friday. I will let you know for sure. From the image, the matt looks like it covers everything right up to the back of the 2nd row seats.

I will let you know on Friday.

Happy New Year! May it be safe!:woot:

I just installed my OEM mat that arrived from Sewell and it does not come with the 3rd row liner, it only comes with the rear cargo liner. Looks like you need to also purchase the front & second row OEM weather mat package which DOES include the 3rd row mat.

My OEM mat arrived a few days ago and it does not cover the area just behind the 2nd row.

I hope Weather Tech steps up and make the proper cargo mat for my 2015 LX soon as I am not real happy with the OEM unit.

Call them back and have them send you the other piece.

I would but I am not too crazy about the Lexus pad after using it a week of two. It is so "nonskid" that it is hard to load items by sliding. Wish the weathertec unit was available. I might get it anyway and cut it if it does not fit.

grsams 01-10-15 05:03 PM

Good to know. I was thinking about OEM as they are the same texture and heaviness that I have had in my X5. I have had Weather Tec in everything else. Looking at the pics, I have to also say I like the way the Weather Tec has the small lip to keep spills from getting in the cracks as all of my previous mats have been the same design. After reading, I will go with the Weather Tec. Anyone have a online promo BTW?

drich2905 01-10-15 06:49 PM

I replaced the Weathertech mat in my LX470 with the Lloyd's rubbertite mat. When I got the LX570 I put the Lloyd's mat from the 470 in the vehicle. I think it would work for the 570 of you got the vehicle specific mat. Mine doesn't fit great since it is for the 470 but it's still good protection. You have to let it air out for 3-4 days before installing and it doesn't have a lip like the Weathertech but it is very heavy duty. If anyone is interested I can take some pics even though mine is not car specific. I think I got it from Autoanything.

I just picked up my LX that comes with all weather floor mats as an option. It did came with the missing piece you are talking about. Therefore if you order a OEM all weather floor mats it will be included.

Hi. base on your picture it looks like the weather tech does fit even their website says no?

trungerton 01-31-15 08:00 PM

the WeatherTech works in our vehicle just fine!

And I actually cut out those holes for where the 3rd seat hooks into the floor. If you never plan to use the seat, you could leave it uncut, I suppose. We're happy with our set of WeatherTech!

These images look like my 2015 LX. What year LX is this in the images. I would love to get the weather tech liner for my cargo area but they insist it will not fit.

Have never read any changes from 2008-2015 with interior demensions.

Ours is a 2014. Shouldn't be any changes from 2008 - 2015

ggebhardt 02-02-15 01:38 AM

That is it. I am ordering the Weathertech cargo liner today. Will post images when it arrives and let Weathertech know they know not what they are talking about. I called these people and they insisted if I had the power third row this liner would not fit. I told him that every LX has ALWAYS had power seats. He threatened that I would have to pay return shipping.

That's what they told me as well. Ended ordering the Lexus OEM. Which is a two piece. Don't really like it but keep us updated if yours fit no problem ill get one as well.
thanks

Hi -- didn't you originaly order the Lexus OEM? Did you not like it? Or was it the being a 2-piece that you didn't love about it?

I'm not sure why WeatherTech seems to think it won't fit. It has NO issues in ours (as noted in the pictures. If you never plan to use the 3rd row, you can even NOT cut out the openings for the seat latches/anchors (when they're lowered, as shown in my pics).

Either way, we're happy with it. We have those liners throughout the vehicle. With the Tan Interior, it was the best color match/compliment.

I did order and got the OEM and I hate it. It is so "grippy" you can not slide stuff in and out of the cargo area. I cut it up and use the OEM on my large Toro diesel mower! LOL!

I have ordered the WeatherTech unit, even though the jerk who works there argued with me. This is my 4th LX and now my 4th Weather Tech cargo liner.

Just installed this in my 2015, Weathertech p/n 40356.
Weathertech does not list the LX in their fitment catalogue because of the third row motors bulging under the seats. This mats are designed for the manually operated third row seats found in the Land Cruiser 200.
Said that, I think they still fit great and their quality is far better than the flimsy OE mats.

Agreed!

Mine arrived on Friday and the new liner fits perfectly in my 2015 LX. I could not be more happy as you posted images, saving me the trouble.

Thanks Sir.

Aren't these plastic? I know they have a slick finish and things slide around on them? How if you want stuff to slide then these are great. OEM are thick real rubber so things don't slide. I've had both I like the quality of the Lexus OEM and the fact that stuff does not slide. Good to have choices.

It is a personal preference thing as the OEM would not allow ANY sliding and the WeatherTech do. Not to the point they are slippery. The OEM unit offered less protection for spills I thought.

We agree that it is good to have choices.

Definetely a matter of personal preference.
Yes, Weathertecs are made of some kind of polymer but they still have a rubbery feel to me.
Anyway I always use my cargo net and hammock style net, you dont want to have an accident without securing your stuff, it can really save your life.

The problem is that alot of the stuff we toss in the back of our SUV would not be stopped by the net if I were to hit something. The net would complicate the surgery.

All joking aside. Securing your items can save your life but I question the net being useful.

Did you have to call them to get them to order. I have the heavy rubber OEM mat from my 2009 that I can move to the 2015 - but the OEM mat makes it hard to s hard to move things around on it. I would prefer the weathertec. Did you just call them or order one for a Land Cruser?

I also bought the OEM and it was impossible to use due to the same reason, nothing would slide and loading and unloading requires a little less friction.

I tossed the OEM and bought the LX570 WeatherTech unit and it fits just fine. I orderd it over the internet on their website. Just ignore the power seat statement. Now I can slide stuff in and otu with ease. They only make one model that fits bot the Landcrusier and the LX.
