rear wheel noise

rear wheel noise
last week while my wife was pulling out i heard a grinding noise coming from the back wheels. i figured it was time for new brakes, i Changed the front last year so rears were pending.
i changed rotors and pads, they were like 20 per left. also looked like the e brake was touching the rotors. i adjusted that a little
so the noise is still there and its worse. i have no clue what could be making the noise. brake dust shield maybe.. shocks
its worse when i turn right...
i have done brakes on every car i have owned and it was pretty easy for lx.
any ideas what could be causing the noise.

I had the same problem on my 2010 LX570. A dealer replaced the rear brakes and drums, but the noise remained. Once I returned the truck back with the same issue, the dealer replaced the backing plate, which was worn out. The noise was entirely gone once the new plate installed. Fortunately, the dealer replaced both plates at no charge. Good luck.

my car is still certified, but i took to my trusty mechanic i just wanted to be there when he opened up everything. The brakes/rotors were new so i was really curious...
The problem was the rotors were touching the plate behind the rotors, (not the dust covers/brake shield).. the inner lip of the rotor was touching it when i make a turn.
anyways he took a hammer and screw driver and pushed in it. both side- drove around problem gone....

I've got the same problem with my 2011 thats driving me bonkers! I personally tore everything apart back there to find that everything was in perfect working order (brake pads, rotors, dust cover, parking brake, bearings) What was really driving me nuts was that it would happen intermittently. Some days I would take a corner and hear a terrible scraping sound, and other days it would be perfectly smooth. Gonna look at this backing plate right now. Thanks very much fellas
